Title: Free-Space Optical and Quantum Time Transfer
Abstract: The limitations of GPS and other global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are well known: weak one-way RF time transfer from signals over 20,000 km away are easy to jam and spoof, with limited accuracy. New optical and quantum time transfer methods offer much better accuracy, security, and resiliency, but have their own unique challenges to overcome. This presentation will provide an overview of the developments, challenges, and state-of-the-art of these systems.
