About Xairos:
Xairos is building a quantum-enabled Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) system. Our Quantum Time Transfer (QTT) technology delivers sub-nanosecond timing accuracy with resilience to GPS jamming and spoofing. We've partnered with ESA, UKRI, NASA and others to develop this core capability and now we are starting to deliver it to the customers and partners who need it.
Role Overview:
Xairos UK is seeking a Software Engineer to help deliver the deployment of its Quantum Time Transfer technology. In particular, you will help develop our fibre QTT product as well as help outline future quantum satellite missions. You will be responsible for helping deploy our QTT capability in the real world, refining algorithms into software features and advancing in house simulator tools.
What You’ll Do:
Design, develop and maintain reliable software for our QTT product and future projects and products.
Developing automation software for test and validation of optical and timing hardware.
Develop software simulation and modelling tools.
Liaise with UK and Europe industrial and academic partners, and Xairos HQ in Lafayette, Colorado to deliver solutions across international projects.
What You Need:
Degree in Maths/Physics/Computer Science or similar
Experience in software development (software-centric/programming-based PhD also considered).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Project manager mindset – good stakeholder communication, planning, and risk management capabilities.
Nice to Have:
Understanding of quantum technology, network communication systems, or timing fundamentals.
Experience developing physics-based simulation software.
Experience programming in C++ and Python.

Remuneration:
Base Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 doe.
