Xairos is building a quantum-enabled Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) system using patented Quantum Time Transfer (QTT) technology, delivering sub nanosecond timing accuracy and resilience against GPS jamming or spoofing. The company is part of high-profile initiatives such as the ESA NAVISP programme and development of national Quantum PNT Testbeds. Role Overview

Xairos UK is seeking a Test and Validation Engineer to help deliver the deployment of its Quantum Time Transfer technology. In particular, you will help develop, deploy and test our fibre QTT product as well as optical hardware for our quantum optical links. You will be responsible for helping deploy our core QTT capability, helping develop the technology and testing systems before customer delivery. 

Role Overview

Xairos UK is seeking a Test and Validation Engineer to help deliver the deployment of its Quantum Time Transfer technology. In particular, you will help develop, deploy and test our fibre QTT product as well as optical hardware for our quantum optical links. You will be responsible for helping deploy our core QTT capability, helping develop the technology and testing systems before customer delivery. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and execute tests of opto-electronic and quantum timing systems to inform product development. 

  • Write test protocols, test plans, and execute tests both in the lab and in the field. 

  • Process, analyse, and present experimental data using Python (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib). 

  • Produce clear test documentation to communicate methodology, results, and conclusions internally and to customers. 

  • Review test plans and results from subcontractors and partners, and collaborate with them to plan and execute joint tests. 

  • Liaise with UK and European industrial and academic partners, and Xairos HQ in Lafayette, Colorado. 

  • Develop and improve test methodologies and infrastructure as the product matures.
