About Xairos:
Xairos is building a quantum-enabled Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) system. Our Quantum Time Transfer (QTT) technology delivers sub-nanosecond timing accuracy with resilience to GPS jamming and spoofing. We've partnered with ESA, UKRI, NASA and others to develop this core capability and now we are starting to deliver it to the customers and partners who need it.
Role Overview:
Xairos UK is seeking a Test and Validation Engineer to help deliver the deployment of its Quantum Time Transfer technology. In particular, you will help develop, deploy and test our fibre QTT product as well as optical hardware for our quantum optical links. You will be responsible for helping deploy our core QTT capability, helping develop the technology and testing systems before customer delivery.
What You’ll Do:
Design, develop, and execute tests of opto-electronic and quantum timing systems to inform product development.
Write test protocols, test plans, and execute tests both in the lab and in the field.
Process, analyse, and present simulation and experimental data.
Produce clear test documentation to communicate methodology, results, and conclusions internally and to customers.
Review test plans and results from subcontractors and partners, and collaborate with them to plan and execute joint tests.
Collaborate with UK and European industrial and academic partners, and Xairos HQ in Lafayette, Colorado.
What You Need:
Degree in engineering, physics or related field; relevant experience from an internship or previous role considered alongside academic level.
Proficiency in Python or Matlab, specifically for control of test equipment and data analysis/presentation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear test plans, reports, and technical documentation for customers and partners.
Nice to Have:
Hands-on experience designing and running quantum or opto-electronic test systems.
Experience working with quantum technology, optical communication systems, or timing systems.
Experience developing in C++, or other low level software languages.

Remuneration:
Base Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 doe.
